    I am a certified Medical Exercise Specialist, Personal Trainer, Speed and Endurance Specialist. I began my Fitness Industry Journey in 2003, when I became the military fitness leader for the U.S. Navy. I have completed both my Bachelors and Masters of Science degree in Exercise science and sports medicine/ Rehabilitation. Through continued education, conferences, workshops, sessions and meetings, I expanded my knowledge to assist in the safe practices, applicable programming and effective results for my clients.
    My clientele is varied which has allowed me to work ages from 10-60, male or female, as well as many chronic diseases and conditions, disabilities and disorders. It has been awesome to work with people that often are in the most challenging points of their lives. It can be as complex as working with the people with limited mobility, orthopaedic problems/replacements, limited mobility, obesity, pre and post rehab conditions, Military Fitness and to just performing daily functions better. Other times it is as simple as measurable and achievable goals. Whether it be to have a faster race time, prepare for an obstacle race, get stronger, lose body fat, better balance, better endurance, or be in better overall health, each comes with its own set of complications and often more than one of these are present. It is my job to find what works best for you, implement it and seek guidance from sources that may be most involved throughout your journey, doctors, family, rehab specialists, and so on.
    I do more then just work with clients that want to loose weight or build muscle.  I have the knowledge and educational background to help you with any medical condition that you have. I have worked with Doctors, Physical Therapists and Chiropractors.
    Consider me your advocate for wellness, both physical and mental. If you aren’t feeling great inside, it will be hard to have or maintain a successful transition to a better lifestyle. Being active is necessary for a better quality of life. However often some experiences such as a decline in health, surgeries, relationships, stress, and lack of mental stimulation can contribute to depression, loneliness, inactivity, anxiety and other problems. My desire is to motivate, encourage and help change attitudes for the better and assist in life transformations.

    Philip Medina began a career in fitness during the summer of 1991 as assistant to the Director of Fitness for the City of Gulfport. In 1993, Gold’s gym asked him to teach fitness classes. Two years later, he accepted the position of General Manager. After securing his first certification through the Aerobic and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) in 1996, Philip began training clients as an Certified Personal Trainer. Subsequent certifications with International Fitness Professionals of America, and National Exercise Trainers Association were helpful in maintaining a fitness knowledge base.

    With over 20 years of experience, Philip Medina has trained clients with a wide variety of fitness goals, from weight management to special needs (stroke patients, heart patients, accident victims, and clients confined to wheelchairs). Each client receives a personalized fitness program specifically designed for their individual health and fitness needs. No two programs are identical, as each client is unique. This is the very definition of Personal Training.
